Description February 18, 2019. Took a hike to the ice caves at Byron Glacier by Portage Alaska. This is looking out the back entrance with snow from a avalanche that happened sometime within 24-48 hours prior to me being there. While taking photos in the cave it started to snow heavily but it was the large light clumps that were falling slowly so it was a beautiful. You can see the clumps of snow falling just outside the cave in this panorama.
