Artist Statement I am a painter living on a small farm in rural Maryland, with a deep love for Heritage Livestock. I'm surrounded by these beautiful animals that were once commonplace on colonial American farms. I hope the renditions of these treasured animals raises awareness of their threatened existence, as well delights any who have a deep rooted love of rural life.
I work predominantly in oil and acrylic and strive to find the color and expression in each of my subjects.
When I'm not painting, I'm very busy maintaining a small apple orchard, a garden my family can enjoy for daily meals, and raising several breeds of chickens, Hog Island Sheep, three dogs, three cats, two rescue horses and a bearded dragon named Louis.
Needless to say, my husband is a patient man.
I have studied at Roger Williams - BFA
I am a licensed tattoo artist
I continue to paint and display work at The Torpedo Factory, and The Art League, both in Alexandria, Virginia
