Artist Statement Born and raised in small town upstate New York in 1955. William is a self taught artist and has received no formal art training his talent is God given. Employing techniques learned from trial and error experience and talent is still evolving and growing.

Williams illustrations have appeared in several magazines and he has been a featured artist on several internet websites where his work is displayed. His work has won several art competitions and he is highly sought after for commission pieces.

Currently co owner, with his wife, of Broken Rock Studio where he sells and displays his pieces. The studio, located in upstate New York, was created in 2010 and has been his main interest since.

William has currently turned his attention to the medium of acrylic and has been creating a wide array of portrait work with a musical / celebrity theme.

Broken Rock Studio
was created when I decide to pursue this talent I was given in earnest. I have always been able to draw but in recent years the urge has grown and has become a refuge of sort.

'I have buried the wounds of my heart in a field of Broken Rock…tightly fit…buried deep. Salvation is given….but freedom is earned...not by merely uttering the words…but by your blood soaked hands as you face the demons under every rock.

For I was the one who buried the beasts – not for crimes of the spirit – but for safekeeping, like pets to let loose in moments of weakness…
because just as I have entombed them…they have imprisoned me.'
