Artist Statement My name is Tisha Gary Ward. I graduated from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus with a B.A. in visual arts. Later on I earned a Masters of Education degree from Lesley University. I am a Native New Yorker from Roosevelt, NY. My family and culture can be seen in majority of my work. I like to capture the emotions of my subject in all my creative pieces whether it is photography or figure drawing. I also love to write poetry, memoirs,and fiction stories. Majority of my creative work is also used with my full time job as a middle school language arts teacher. I write for enjoyment and paint for inspiration and therapy.
