Artist Statement Since I was six years old, I loved taking pictures. I preferred to be behind the camera, rather than in front. However, my skills didn't begin to blossom, until my husband bought me a Canon DSLR. I had never used a camera like that before, but he introduced me to a friend that had the same camera and he became my mentor. Since then, I have read hundreds of articles, joined several discussion groups and signed up for numerous newsletters further expanding my photo knowledge. Taking pictures is even more challenging and more fun than ever. When I see something interesting or I see an object that invokes feeling, I try to capture it. I love taking photos of nature because it helps me stay connected to my emotions and sometimes helps me see the little things that truly make a difference.
