Artist Statement Born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Ron developed an interest in photography while serving in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Lowery DD-770 and visiting ports throughout the Meditteranean Sea. "It was a lot of fun and great experience shooting pictures in all the different countries we visited."
Ron's interest became a passion beginning in the late '90's as he switched from Nikon 35mm film to Canon Digital. Present equipment includes a Canon EOS 5D, EOS 40D, and an EOS 20D plus lenses from closeup & macro to mid & long telephoto zooms with image stabilization.
Ron has mastered numerous courses in advanced digital photography, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Although Ron loves the outdoors and nature photography, he has recently taken on opportunities in sports and portrait photography.
Just recently an image Ron took from a helicopter in Kauai, Hawaii was included in the 2008 Schmap Hawaiian Guide. Visit www.schmap.com/guides/hawaii
