Artist Statement As a synesthete when one of my neurological pathways is stimulated multiple pathways are stimulated. I create my art to better understand myself and my perception of the world around me. I am inspired by social, political, and cultural issues as seen through my synesthetic vision, and the feelings accompany them. My art expresses my attempt to represent how I see the world and its many issues.

Each piece of my art is an attempt to show the world from my unique point of view. Projects often consist of multiple works, usually in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work.

I use many types of media, but am partial to pencil for drawing and oils for painting. The subject matter determines the materials and the forms of the work. Art is an extension of my senses. It drives my synesthesia, or the other way around. It has always been with me and always will be. To stop making artwork would be like losing a part of me.

My artwork has been featured in the January 2014 edition of Art: Addict Magazine, as well as gallery showings sponsored by companies like Century 21.
