Artist Statement I believe we are all creative as we are made in the image of God that art is an expression of ourself that sadly many of us as we grow into adult hood put aside or deny this creative side of ourselves thinking its either not important or its useless not practical.
I cannot remember a time where I haven't had a pencil, pen, in my hand I have always been fascinated by faces, eyes, catching the true feelings of people in their eyes and their faces. My ultimate love is portriture and this is my long term goal to become at the least a good portriture artist, along with abstract, surreal, impressionism, expressive, life drawing.
I am a colourist who loves to work in oils, pastels, though work in water colour and pen as well. I love the colour of oil and pastel, and love the soft tones, colours water colour has I always feel landscape works are best done in the medium of water colour.
I have kept until recently my writing, art seperate feeling that my art was where I expressed my joy, love of living and celebration of life, and writing was my reflective, inner workings however lately I have begun to bring my writing into my art. I believe art is about the artist's journey as a person hence I guess I am now ready to merge both worlds bringing a more wholistic person into my work.
I am presently working towards my first art exhibition.

I have sold overseas and locally and have had worked published in Anthrolopiges such as 'From A Common Spring Vol 11 by Mic Johnson and Evolving Editions Illuminations theme of yes'and won artist of the month contest with www.americansuperstar.magazine.

Nelson Mandela said this,
Our deepest fear is not that we are
inadequate,
Our deepest fear is that we are
powerful beyond measure,
it is our light not our darkness that
frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world,
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
wont feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do,
We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us,
It's just not in some of us, it's in everyone,
As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same, as we are
liberated from our own fear, our prescence automatically
liberates others.

Thank- you for taking the time to read this,
Paulette.
