Artist Statement Igor Bluvshteyn was born in 1960 in Moscow. Since 1977 he studied painting in Viktor Olennikov's workshop. Since 1993 freelance artist.
The artist's early works are landscapes of Moscow and the Moscow region, executed in the Russian Realist tradition. During the 1990s, he created "Petersburg Elegies" and "Autumn Walks", series of graphics and paintings dedicated to Petersburg. The "Cities on the Water" theme was continued in the landscapes of Venice, Amsterdam, and the Baltics which are presented in the artworks series "Life on the Water", "Venetian Sketches", "Amsterdam Motives". A series of water colors "Summer in the city" are devoted to old Moscow, the hometown, interest to which has returned years later after leaving. Since 2002 lives in Germany.

The artist's works are part of private and corporate collections in Russia, Germany, France, USA, Canada and other countries.
