Description Ive always been fascinated by H. P. Lovecrafts novella, At the Mountains of Madness. The characters explore a lost ancient city buried beneath the ice of Antarctica, and they find a passageway with cryptic designs that represent the history of the lost alien civilization. I painted this while writing a sequel to Lovecraft's tale.
