Artist Statement I am fascinated with eyes and faces and the expressions that convey emotions.Provacative and compelling .I usually start with eyes for they are the mirror of the soul....I interpret what my inner spirit is feeling at the time and just go with the flow.
I got accepted into a juried art show in 2009.Bluff Park Art Show held Oct 3rd 2009. in Birmingham Al. a very well known Art show one of the few that only accept original works not prints.
I was very very fortunate to have gotten accepted into such a major art show with artists from all over the country. It was a huge success! I was blessed to be a part of it!

I studied Life Drawing at Rhode Island School Of Design back in 1972.( yes Im not a youngster by any means...lol... but I am young at heart!! ..and had won art awards as a teenager, but never furthered my education..got married and life took me in a different direction moved to NAshville in 87 and pursued my love for songwriting...
I' m a published songwritrer and jewelry designer along with my love for drawing and creating.
I have illustrated cartoons for a local newspaper back in my hometown when I was still in high School.... and have illustrated books for a few of my talented writer freinds.

For me ..I find sitting down and drawing with no particular idea in mind is very soulful and introspective . and truly relaxing..Im amazed at how people see each drawing with their interpretations and feelings... they speak " to his or her inner spirit...as well as mine .

I spent hours with a young artist at The Bluff Park Art show..she kept coming back to my booth ...asking me questions...telling me all about her high school..and how much she loved art.. I saw her excitement passion and desire as she looked though my portfolio , and art I had on display ..After the fourth or fifth time..... this enthusiastic teen came back to my booth...she bought two of my matted originals...I felt like I was looking at me when I was her age...going to art shows and wishing I was as good as some of my favorite artists..hanging with them ,and hanging on every word.
As she walked away ....I felt so proud and priviledged to have met this young aspiring artist and thought to myself....someday I will see her at an art show. How incredibly rewarding to have met her.She looked up to me as much as I looked up to her...That is what it is all about!!
Touching people with my art is a gift...and I believe gifts are meant to be shared.
I am excited to be back doing what I love !!

Blessings
