Artist Statement Brent Morales was born in . The earlier years of his life were spent growing up in Spain and Puerto Rico before finally settling in South Philadelphia where he took an early interest in visual arts.
At the age of fourteen Brent was selected to attend a summer workshop at Moore College of Art and Design in Drawing & Sketching, Painting, Chalk Drawing, Still Life, and Ceramics. His curiosity for photography enveloped later in his childhood home beginning with a fascination for his father's camera. Brent was amazed at his father’s pictures and scores of albums. Once in a while Brent would sneak his father's camera outside and take random images.
Brent's interest for photography didn't spawn again until his time of service in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman at age of twenty two. During and upon exiting his military service Brent attended colleges, obtaining credits from different universities and later getting his degree in Information Systems. Brent began gaining great reputation for his web development skills, primarily in web animation
Working as a Business Support Analyst at a large international chemical company, then moving to a locally well-known law firm, Brent took a turn back towards photography. Remembering all the albums his father has, and the images captured while serving in Africa as a US Marine, Brent decided it was time to follow what he enjoys the most.
Brent is mainly self-taught through trial and error. Purchasing books, attending workshops, and networking with locally famed photographers, you can immediately see his style and work growing with every shutter.
Currently Brent still resides in Philadelphia and continuous to pursue his dreams as he steadily strives to enhance his style and work. Presently, Brent is attending University of The Arts honing his skills in all faucets of photography.
