Description Growing up in Arizona I have always been amazed by the Superstition Mountains. The legends surrounding them, as a child, made my imagination run wild ideas of mythical figures and fantastic stories. I chose to paint the Javelina and the Rock Art with the backdrop of the Superstition Mountains, all 3 true symbols of Arizona. The Javelina wild and free, and the ancient Rock art along with the Superstition Mountains myths and legends, three elements coming together in one painting to say, This is our home, Arizona.
Jason Hoke, Phoenix Arizona Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement
My work is inspired by the natural world around me and by my avid love for animals and people. As a child I spent many hours drawing all kinds of wildlife and people. Anything and everything was a potential canvas.
As an adult, I now paint mostly on Watercolor paper and Digital canvas. However, I’m still open to painting on whatever surface best supports and conveys the subject. I diligently study my Subjects from life and from photos to accurately render them to convey each Subjects personality.
I believe my art work speaks for itself and I invite you to look at my portfolio. Please feel free to email me with any questions that you may have or if you would like to request a custom piece.
