Artist Statement Marte was born and raised in Michigan, where she continues to live with her husband and two children. He love of the creative process began as a very small child. Working in ceramics as well as acrylic painting she is a self-taught artist. She looks at objects with an eye on texture and how they will appear on the canvas. The brush makes the shape come alive in a way only color can do.


With a portfolio containing original abstract paintings, most of the pieces were done for her own enjoyment. Until recently she has displayed her work at local craft shows and fairs. She is delighted to now make her work available to all, by way of ImageKind, Ebay Art Auctions and EBSQ.
