Artist Statement BETS has been training horses most of her life. It is only natural , as an artist, that she would also paint them. She studied at the Corcoran Gallery in D.C. and then proceeded to do an intense study in the anatomy of the horse. She wrote the "So...You Draw Horses?" marketing guide for equine artists, which recieved favorable write-ups in a number of art publications.
The premier piece for her Wild Horse Series was very popular, on many magazine covers and the limited edition print was presented to celebrities as well as gracing the cover of a popular board game. She is the official artist of the Adirondack Wild Horse Preserve and designed and created the "Just Say Neigh" slogan and logo for the Maryland Horse Rescue.
To remember her son Mike, who passed away in 2003, the artist BETS hides 4MIKE in all of her work. Her clients enjoy searching for it and finding it in their pieces of art. She currently enjoys being a full time artist as well as spending time with her two horses. She does a lot of portrait work, primarily equine.
