Artist Statement EDi by Darlene are artworks created using traditional processing of photographic images captured through the lens of a digital camera. Each image documents a complex aesthetic idea through careful control of composition, focus, lighting, and manual editing. The intent of an EDi by Darlene is to reflect a perception that invites the viewer to reprocess, rethink and see a perspective that does not duplicate reality.

Darlene has exhibited in Washington, DC; Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and in New York. Her works have been juried into national exhibits, including the 2nd Biennial Maryland Regional Juried Art Exhibition, the PEPCO Edison Gallery, and the Smithsonian affiliate Annemarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center, where she received the Juror's Award. Her works are acquired for personal residences, charities, and corporate installations.

After receiving formal training in the public schools of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, Darlene studied black and white photography at the Corcoran School of Art and Design in the early 80s. She is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), The Art League, the Maryland Federation of Art, and the International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA).
