Artist Statement I like to work in black and white because there’s something magical about seeing form created from nothing but light and shadow. At the same time, there’s a sense of serenity in the reprieve from a world of constant color, as well as a depth of detail that gets right into the soul of the subject. As they say, it’s all in the eyes.

I was born and raised in England and had a pencil in my hand before I could walk. After moving to California in my twenties and taking a “brief” twenty year detour into television writing, I finally had the opportunity to devote my life to art. I won a couple of awards and honorable mentions at art shows, but eventually settled down to specialize in commissioned work, primarily people and pets. It’s all in the eyes...
