Artist Statement MAREK KUBÍNEK

I am a photographer who lives and works in the Republic of Ireland (close to the Wicklow mountains) and the Czech republic.

I have started taking photographs as a hobby already in my childhood. Nowadays love to take pictures of trees, landscapes, mainly I love mountain and wild forest. In the last few years I have been taking pictures of people and nature in more details.
After seeing a photography exhibitions in 2004 in Olomouc, Ostrava and Zlin (Czech republic) I have discovered the wonder of how light and perspective could help immortalize a moment forever. From then on, my goal has been to use my camera to help capture life and its beautiful surroundings.

My pictures which you can find in my Photo gallery section are selected from thousands of photos I have taken in many places ranging from my local neighborhoods in the Czech Republic and Republic of Ireland to as far away as South – East Asia, the Pacific and Venezuela. Each photo in my portfolio has a special meaning and value for me, and with one view I am transported back to the exact time and place when and where I took it. I'm excited to share those magic moments with you.

I have started my career of photographer as a part-time hobby with an easy 35mm film camera BEIRETE VSN and later I changed to single lens Practica, Pentax P30/MZ30, Nikon F 50, Canon EOS 300 to digital camera Fuji Finepix 7000. Now I use Canon 400D.
