Artist Statement At the age of two, Bonnie reached from her high chair to finger-paint a colorful “COOKED BEETS WITH CARROTS”, on the walls of Her Grandma’s Newly Painted Kitchen. Such early talent was met with mixed reviews.

“DON’T SPANK THAT GIRL, FRAME IT!” -Aunt Bella, Wallingford, Conn.

“GOOD, NEEDS SALT!” -Poppa, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Years later, she found a more lucrative outlet in artwork for advertising & animation design. A free-lance illustrator for over 30 years,
Ms. Gordon-Lucas’s work has been commissioned for greeting cards, clothing, rubber stamps, CD album covers, wallpaper, fabric, puzzles, magazines & children’s books. She mixes sepia ink made from the hulls of walnuts with a palette of captivating color, lyrical lines, whimsical words, & healthy, uninhibited humor.

BONNIE's original paintings and limited edition reproductions are currently sold in Art Galleries & at juried Art Fairs. Her personalized BLESSED EVENT CERTIFICATES (birth & adoption, weddings & Bar/Bat Mitzvah invitations) are a popular gift request. She is available for commissioned paintings of homes, or people & their pets.

BONNIE's creative talents include writing; PRIDE OF LIONS, KNOT OF TOADS (More Than Two By Two: The Collective Nouns of Animals) and GOODBYE GREEN BAGEL (A Child’s Guide to Traditional Jewish Customs for the Ritual of Mourning). Originally from NYC, the artist's studio is now a farmhouse surrounded by a limestone fence, frogs, flowers & fairies. She lives with one husband, two dogs & four very noisy parakeets.
