Description Landmannalaugar is a highly interesting place in geological sence but also for its history and vegetation. Most important though is the beauty of the surrounding. Such a multiplicity of colours and shapes are not to be found in one other place in nature. This fact and the comfortable natural bath has made Landmannalaugar the most visited spot in the uninhabited areas of Iceland. I took this picture there (in Landmannalaugar) and it shows how the sun is changing the colors in the landscape into a magnificent play between light and shadows, and rough and heavy black color of the lava to more brilliance and bright colors of the mountains. On top of that is the absolutely fantastic sky which just makes this picture a great piece of art.
Stefan Kristinsson, Reykjavik Member Since January 2008 Artist Statement My name is Stefan Kristinsson and I'm born in Reykjavik Iceland the year 1979. Most part of my life I has been studying music and working as a musician as well. However, from early teen I had always an interest in drawing and was rather good at it but choose the music. But in past year my other artist self started to wake up again and I bought myself an camera, Nikon D80, and started to learn photography and try to use what I knew from early studying in my teens about visual art to my advantage. As with all arts you have never studied enough and are always learning new things, but hey that makes all this effort interesting in the first place.
I hope you enjoy my photographing art and hopefully it will decorate many walls in near future.
