Artist Statement I have been an avid photographer since as far back as I can remember. I
grew up with a dream of being a professional photographer and have been
chasing that dream ever since. I am drawn to the beauty of nature and
prefer long hikes in the woods to being on a beach with thousands of
others.

I worked part-time in a one hour photo joint for a while back in the late
80's and found a certain level of satisfaction. It was nice to be able to
help customers understand mistakes they made have made while shooting, if
time permitted.

My passion lies in nature and all her glory. Portraits can be fun and my
preference would be 'environmental portraiture'.

Since 2008 I have been doing as much volunteer photography work as I can
find. I worked as a photographer for the JDRF, American Foundation for
Suicide Prevention and a couple different Lustgarten Foundation events. I
find the work to be very satisfying and very tiring but as soon as the
event is over I am looking forward to the next one.

When I am not out shooting, or thinking about being out shooting, I write a
photography blog called The Wandering Photographer. I started it in October
2011 and have over 160 posts published to-date. I write about my photos,
publish 'how-to' articles, movie reviews, equipment reviews, etc....
if it has to do with photography and I feel like writing about it I do.
