Description LAYERS OF COLOR ON THE CARRIZO - SUPERBLOOM 2017 by Lynn Bauer - The Temblor Mountain Range has come alive with flowers during the spring. A variety of wildflowers cover the ridges of the Temblor Range at Carrizo Plain National Monument in California, creating a rainbow of colors. Goldfields and hillside daisies turn the hills bright yellow, as purple tansy phacelia, blazing stars, orange California poppies and others swirl their colors through the landscape. It is a breathtaking sight and one I will remember for a very long time. California is known for so many things...but, one of my very favorites is seeing some of our desert landscapes transform into incredible works of art and beauty with the emergence of spring wildflowers! The Temblor Mountains are located on the east side of California's Carrizo Plain National Monument. The Plain runs from Bakersfield in Kern County up to San Luis Obispo County.
