Artist Statement Rebecca spent nearly twenty years in Phoenix creating COBOL applications for the airline industry, but has returned to her hometown of Burlington, Iowa where she happily paints…with a lot of cobalt. She is also the author/illustrator of the THE CHILDREN OF HORSESHOE HIDEOUT children’s book series. When she isn’t writing or painting or throwing pottery, she’s likely in her garden, kayaking at Lake Geode or Odessa, or fishing on the Mississippi. She has a passion for trees, old stone walls, and rusty trellises. She feels there is no such thing as too many paints or paint brushes!

Rebecca loves to travel, especially to visit sons Matthew and Bryan and grandchildren Brittany, Brianna, Natalie and Liam.
