Description Rust and decay can be beautiful. It also tells a story. I found this piece of wood on the beach, took a photo and added some textures. An old door, or was it just a piece of it? The remains were left on the beach. The hook was open, but could not tell its story any more than the door could. Was the door open or closed when it was abandoned? Had it travelled far across the sea, or had someone simply brought it in the car to the beach to get rid of it? Was there a little old house nearby with a big black hole where there should have been a door? We'll never know for sure, but I think there will always be a door open!
Randi Grace Nilsberg, Horten Member Since July 2014 Artist Statement I’m a fine art photographer who creates photo art with a painterly effect for nature lovers and dreamers who want affordable art in their home.
I like to experiment with different techniques and styles from soft and subtle colors to the brightness of the entire rainbow. Everything I do starts with a photo of something that caught my eye through its light and shadows, textures and colors. Digital textures often intensify the beauty. I hope my art lets the viewer drift away for a moment.
