Description 'Hooglandse Kerk' is one of the main gotic churches in Leiden, south of Amsterdam. The highest part, the transept is mainly 15th century. The tower on the right is a remains of the older romanesque church. Was ment to be replaced by a gothic tower around 1500, but this never happened as the city got into a severe economic (and financial) crisis then.This picture is taken from castle hill.
