Artist Statement I spent my growing up years going to various state and national parks in California, and also spent a fair amount of time in rural northern Michigan. I am interested in the personality and mood of a place or thing, and I find it interesting how the light, seasons, and weather conditions can change; not just throughout the year, but even in a single day. For instance, the photographs of Wilderness State Park and Mackinaw City were all taken on the same day.
