Description Here is a photo manipulation of the Cloud Gate in Chicago's Millennium park. The little girl staring at herself is my favorite part. Everyone else is kind of immune to the reflection, but she is completely absorbed! In a way it reminds me of Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. Incidentally that painting hangs nearby in the Art Institute of Chicago and is simply stunning!! Textbooks and internet photos of that painting don't do it justice.
Patrick Gotschall, Chicago, IL Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement Hello, and welcome to my gallery page at Imagekind. I enjoy photography because I've found that it gives me the opportunity to capture a singular moment or a particular perspective and then present it to the world in a way that reflects the way I saw it. Hopefully you see something here that moves you. What I've posted here are among my very favorite photos, however I have many more on my photostream at Flickr. All of my photos are available for purchase even if they are not posted in the gallery here. Just let me know what interests you and I can get it posted here for you to purchase through Imagekind. Or, if you would like to purchase a license for commercial use, let me know and we can make an agreeable arrangement. Thanks again for stopping in! PS - Imagekind's compression algorithm is somewhat unforgiving, so the preview pictures shown here aren't nearly as crisp as the original images. See my Flickr page for a more accurate view of image sharpness.
