Anita Ware, Springfield Member Since March 2017 Artist Statement I am an emerging artist who was born in the windy city “Chicago” and raised in the dairy state of “Wisconsin.” Throughout my childhood growing up I have admired the work of Normal Rockwell; His rich imaginations in his paintings capture the stories of everyday life’s issues. Through his paintings I could actually feel how he felt. I love and adore his work. Therefore, my love of illustration grew from the time I was 9 years of age. I found working with illustrations by creating comic books for all of my family and friends were so exciting. I come from a family with an artistic background such as architecture, music and Art. So I express myself through my work as an individual to stand out from the rest. On my painting you will either see a simple subject with a strong statement or a canvas loaded with vivid bold colors. I express myself through my work with simply part of everyday life and try to find a way to bring joy into one’s life. I paint what I feel! I have a wonderful home studio where I create my Whimsical work, not yet able to quit my day job. Who has really inspired me was my late husband of whom I recently lost. He was very supportive and very encouraging. Even his spirit has continued to inspire me to keep following my dream. I dedicate my work to this great man. I don’t follow rules with lines, I love what I do and I feel that I can be free and go anywhere when I have a paint brush in my hand. My work style is whimsical and warm. I do work with mixed media, but I prefer acrylic. My work has always been about using BOLD colors, Most of my viewers are attracted to the bold colors and whimsical qualities that I create. I have actively exhibited my work in various venues, art fairs and sold small paintings all over the world on eBay.
My goals would be that I want to continue learning all that I can about every aspects of the world of ART. I want to continue developing a productive relationship with my customers of whom I appreciate for showing great interest in my work.
Last but not lease, I want to make my artistic skills a full time job to support me as an individual trying to cope living and surviving in this big universe alone.
