Artist Statement As a young artist I was highly motivated by social commentary and the emotional impact that art could have on the individual. Since I first began my studies, I have expanded my motivation to include concepts and images that range from emotionally charged to comforting to joyful. The viewer's personal perception of art contributes so significantly to their experience with the piece that I am constantly fascinated with what each person walks away from it with, art is a living thing if everyone finds something different in it, their own intellectual and emotional response. I am inspired by how my intent in the work is often overshadowed by viewer's own experience and needs.

The various mediums that I tend to utilize are oil paints, watercolors, charcoal, pastels, photography (black & white as well as color), installation, and technological manipulations.
