Artist Statement My odyssey began when I was 10 in 4-H, where I exhibited at the county fair. There I learned the basics of composition. I was shocked when I went to the fair and saw a "Champion" hanging on my exhibit! When digital photography swept the industry, I had unlimited access for experimentation. I was able to try anything I wanted. If the photo was not interesting, I could simply delete it. I began to see beautiful compositions everywhere I went. My next shock came when San Diego Magazine published my photo in their competition.

I can find no better way to express my goals than this quote from Yann Arthus-Bertrand, a National Geographic photographer. "A photographer is a witness to the art that is the Earth. What I try to do is make a record of that art, so that others can see what I have seen."

My hope and dream is that you can see the same beauty in the world through my work.
