Artist Statement Heah! No, Heah! is not a real word, but a very popular one in my house. Much like invinegarating, intensive purposes and poopay. My name is Jackie. I am devoting myself to my art. I spend countless hours a day with my photos, my paints, my pencils and my pastels. At the moment, I feel very creative. New things keep flowing to the paper. I will spend each waking moment pouring myself into this, for I know, one day I will wake up and there will be a blank. An emptiness.
As far as my art goes...I got my first set of charcoals at the age of seven. I started taking painting classes at 15. I love what I do. Most of my art is fairly abstract and is done in the floor of just about any room in my house. I sketch a lot. I'll do that as a passenger in a car, at the bar, on the toilet, at the beach, on the stoop...etc.
I sincerely hope that you find as much joy in looking as I do in creating. I welcome feedback...for what would we become without criticism. Thank you for your interest in not only my work, but in me.
Peace.
Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.
