Description A luscious ripe pomegranate cut in half and exploding with flavorful juice. The beautiful and exotic pomegranate fruit is cherished for it's delicious seeds and juice. It is one of the first fruits to ever be cultivated and is mentioned in many ancient texts. The pomegranate is a little tricky to eat, you don't just bite into a pomegranate. Instead, the fruit is halved and the edible seeds are removed from the internal membrane. You have to work a little more to enjoy the pomegranate but this delicious red fruit is worth the effort.Original photograph with texture added.
Shawna Rowe Member Since July 2012 Artist Statement I grew up in a creative family who loved photography, music, art and random hiking adventures. That helped me to develop a love for nature and artistic expression early on. I've never limited myself to one particular medium but I do favor graphic shapes, bold colors and whimsical style. Whatever the medium, I try to include some or all of those elements in my work.
My family has always been a big inspiration and they feature in a series of satirical cartoons that I've done just for fun over the years. Each year I make a new cartoon to celebrate each of my daughter's birthdays. I've also made my own greeting cards for family members over the years.
Lately, I've been making detailed magazine collages. Each one is made of 100% recycled paper cut into tiny shapes and carefully applied much like paint onto canvas. It's an art-form that requires a lot of time and patience but I love this unusual way of creating. Thank you for visiting my gallery!
