Ben Morales-Correa, San Juan Member Since June 2008 Artist Statement I'm a fine artist and Egyptology enthusiast - someone who has not studied Egyptology at college level, but the subject is a passion that drives me to constantly learn more about and make it an essential part of my life and my vision.
In 1992, I established my atelier under the name Mythos, where I created and developed innovative techniques in the manufacturing of fine ancient Egyptian painting replicas. These works have been acquired by collectors, teachers and Egyptian art enthusiasts in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.
In 1982, I was granted a summer scholarship by the San Francisco Academy of Arts, and was awarded First Prize in Photography by Archaeology Magazine of New York in 1996.
I paint in both abstract and figurative styles, with a strong emphasis on design. Samples of my work are at http://bmcphotoart.com
