Description A famous figure in most of the South East Asia, perhaps even more areas in the world. She is known as the Goddess of Fortune and Prosperity, a symbol of success, wealth and business related. In Thailand, she is known as 'Mae Nang Kwak' and she is included in the Buddhist Pantheon. In Indonesia specially Java, she is also known as 'Dewi Sri Rejeki' the Indonesian Hindu Goddess of rice, who is the daughter of Lord Vishnu (ref: Wayang Purwa, Babad Tanah Jawi). Her small sized statue or pictures are often found in many stores or stalls and not for sale, as it is believed to bring good luck and fortunes. In some other Asian culture, she evolved into the 'waving cat'.This is my digital painting version of her (Nov 21 2012)
