Judith Wachner Member Since January 2013 Artist Statement Judy Wachner was born and raised in Southern California. She was always the one who drew outside the lines, creating her pictures from what was not apparent. Her art portrays her inner world of color and sometimes overactive inner world. Her religion and cultural life are one of the dominant themes of her works as well as faces. She was influenced early on by the works of Picasso, Modigliani, Chagall and the impressionists. One of her favorite things to do when she was a young adult was to go to the museum at quiet times and “step into the paintings.” To hear the breezes and birds in a field and smell the fresh smell of the fragrant grasses and flowers was to really know the art and artist. While attending Exceptional Children’s Foundation Downtown Art Gallery in the artist enjoyed painting and drawing with the tutelage of the art instructors. Judy became interested in digital art while attending the Computer Education Program at Abilities United. Judy currently works in acrylics, pastels, pens, and charcoal as well as creating digital art. Her art has been published in various journals and websites as well as sold privately.
