Michigan is a state of great natural beauty offering four full seasons of wonder. From the plentiful lighthouses dotting it’s coastlines to its many inland lakes and woodland forests teeming with wildlife, it offers countless opportunities for the observant photographer. The west side of the state, or the “Sunset side”, as many refer to it, meanders along the edge of Lake Michigan. Windswept sand dunes, awe inspiring sunsets, and crashing waves help define this area. Many of my images of this area were taken around the beautiful city of Ludington. Northern Michigan is abundant with beauty among the cherry orchards, wine vineyards, and islands such as Mackinac, Beaver and the Manitou’s. The Upper Peninsula offers wondrous views of Lake Superior with it’s rocky shoreline, and dense forests. The east side, or the “Sunrise Side” has it’s own unique feel with quiet sunrises, and gently lapping waves.
These photos attempt to capture just a portion of that natural beauty. I hope you enjoy viewing them, as much as I enjoyed taking them. Please feel free to wander through this virtual gallery, and soak up just a little of the beauty that Michigan has to offer. Thank you for taking the time to visit, and please stop by again.
All the images in my gallery can be printed and custom framed on-demand through Imagekind. They have countless options for matting, framing, and various finishes. Thank you again.
