Description Oil painting on board ( Schlagmetal, patina, oil)Original size: 23 cm x 27 cmI love Lotus Flowers, Im fascinated by them. The lotus flowers are simply beautiful with an overlapping proportional motif of petals. It is considered to be a sacred flower and occupies unique position in the art and mythology.Lotus flowers grow only in shallow waters, out of mud. The thicker and deeper the mud, the more beautiful the lotus blooms. It has been considered to be a sacred symbol of purity and divinity. Lotus also stands as the symbol of divine beauty, the unfolding petals signify the expansion of the soul.As the Lotus carries piousness despite growing from the mud, it is said to represent a caring spiritual promise. That is why not only for me Lotus Flower is a metaphor for life, symbol of transformation and achievement of purity and enlightenment.
Anna Ewa Miarczyńska, Warsaw Member Since December 2012 Artist Statement “I often ask myself why I paint, why I have such a need... and I have some answers for myself... A picture is created, someone notices it, looks at it... you look at it, you react, you like it or not. And here it doesn’t matter whether you like it or you don’t like it – but WHY... What association, feature, emotion, memory, dream caused your reaction? What resonated, what moved? What is in YOU, that made you fix your eyes on this picture (or any other object or phenomenon...), focus your attention for a while, longer or shorter...?”
Anna Ewa Miarczyńska was born in Warsaw, Poland and that is where she has been living most of her life. She graduated from Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Conservation of Painting and Polychrome Sculpture. At first she worked as a heritage conservator. She was also involved in jewellery design, arrangements of exhibitions and presentations. She co-operates with several galleries and periodicals. At present she is a free-lancer and realises various orders and her own visions (oil paintings, drawings, graphic designs, copies, portrays, illustrations, digital art, wall paintings, interior design) It’s through painting that she discovers mysteries for herself... restores her inner-peace, balance, strength and joy of life. She imprints all that in her pictures, so that they can talk to us about it.
