Boats on this canal were last used in 1932. for commercial purposes, the canal is now being restored for pleasure use.The Pocklington canal situated 10 miles south east of the historic city of York is nine miles long and can be walked from one end to the other. Going through open countryside and only crossing roads in three or four places, the peace and quiet of the countryside can be truly savoured. Absolute paradise.
