Description Representing both promise and integrity, the 'Messenger of Peace' come forth this day, offering our civilization the most powerful symbol of worship. A universal token of friendship and brotherhood that has been accepted and revered throughout the ages. The 'Messenger of Peace' wears a flowing gown fashioned from pressed while gardenia. Other flower used were fall leaves, larkspur and pansies. I call this unique art work, 'petal painting.' The original design was made entirely from pressed flowers and leaves grown in our own enchanted gardens.
Tauna Andersen, Ephraim Utah Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement I designed my first pressed flower picture after a fun and exciting summer learning to press flowers with my younger sister. It was a simple wreath I entitled "Summer's End." From that design the business of Pressed For Time was born. For the next fifteen years, I enjoyed creating pressed floral artwork from the flowers that I and my children picked and pressed from our own gardens and from the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
A few years ago, I decided to experiment with my work and created a series of angel and fairy designs. I was very pleased with the outcome and continued to let my imagination and nature inspire other magical images - all made from pressed flowers, leaves and greenery. I call this unusual artwork, "Petal Painting." All of my originals were made entirely from pressed flowers and I am now pleased to offer many of them as unique one-of-a-kind prints. Please visit my web site to see all of my original art work.
Today I am still being inspired to produce new creations representing magic and fantasy. I love opening a new page of pressed flowers and being flooded with the memories of those early years and the everlasting beauty that pressed flowers represent.
My intention with each creation is to share my love of fantasy, nature and flowers with those that will be drawn to them. I hope you enjoy these unique images and that they bring beauty and inspiration to your world as they have to mine.
