Artist Statement As a young girl growing up in northern Indiana, I was greatly influenced by my father, who was a professional photographer. That influence, coupled with my artistic ability, would resurface years later after I received my BA majoring in Fine Arts from Indiana University. I spent most of the next ten years as a computer graphics artist, specializing in speaker-support presentations, medical illustration and graphic design.

While studying 3D computer graphics and animation in Canada, I met the man who would become my husband, Brian MacGowan. As a computer graphics artist with extensive training in photography, he has provided me with much insight into the quirks and foibles of computer graphics on nearly a daily basis.

I once again embraced my early love of photography while I was on a career hiatus for motherhood. Digital photography, along with computer graphics, now enable me to artistically enhance my photos, resulting in the illusion of a painterly effect when viewed either onscreen or as a print.

After fifteen years of living in Canada, I currently resides once more in northern Indiana, along with Brian and our two daughters.
