Artist Statement In 1990 a few minutes before a hot air balloon ride, my dad handed my his camera, a Pentax K-1000. He gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it and off we went. When the prints came back I saw a photo I'd taken of the landscape with the shadow of the balloon in it. I was hooked.

I studied photography in school and resisted going digital for quite awhile. I finally bought a digital SLR shortly before going to South Africa. I still have my original film SLR as well as some other "fun" cameras - a Holga, Lomos, etc. and hope to use them more as well.

I took a break from photography for a bit, but have recently rediscovered my love for it. I only hope it come across in my photos.

If you have seen one of my images on Flickr and would like to purchase a copy, but cannot find it here, please let me know and I will be happy to add it
