Description This painting was done from a photo I took of the intersection of Monroe & State In busy downtown Chicago. It is my first urban landscape painting, I was inspired by the work for Richard Estes. This image depicts a slice of life on a typical Saturday in the summer of 1996.
Michael Neamand, lake in the hills Member Since November 2019 Artist Statement I am a photo realist painter that works with acrylics on canvas. My primary focus is on the Urban Landscape; Chicago / European. My compositions are usually ambitious and involve a lot of detail and information. Although a typical painting will take up to 150 hours, they are very rewarding when completed. This is the type of artwork I love and am drawn to.
