Description This piece reflects how the artist sees the plane we live on as very narrow strip situated between the Ogallala Aquifer and the night sky. The artist also wonders if the stars in the sky are also in the aquifer and if the moon moves the water underneath the way it moves the ocean.

Artist Statement Anna Carr is a watercolor artist in the Sandhills of Nebraska, a unique geographical and cultural region, known for being located over one of the world's largest underground aquifers and for cattle production. Anna is interested in the parallels between the vast water underneath and the infinite sky above. Anna's use of color is inspired by a childhood Lisa Frank obsession, making her paintings particularly appealing to children. Anna earned a Minor in Studio Art from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduating in 2012. She is currently pursuing painting in order to cultivate a quiet lifestyle.
