Artist Statement I'm an amateur photographer, having learned some of the basics of using an SLR from my parents who both had one, I experimented with point hole cameras and developing B+W film when in my youth.
Early on I also discovered how to get in trouble with a camera, having been approached by soldiers after photographing a minefield in Cyprus. Often today my lenses and tripods seem to lead to problems even away from the minefields!
I bought my first digital SLR in 2003 which encouraged me to experiment more and helped solidify photography as a hobby. Today I have a Canon 40D and a few nice lenses to go for it (Canon runs in the family), and occasionally hook up a telescope to the lot too.
My interests are wide-ranging, but lately I've been enjoying the winter by trying to get good macro shots of snowflakes.
