Artist Statement Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, my artistic journey began as a child and brought me through a myriad experiences: exhibits, art shows, including renaissance fairs and festivals all around the country. I was (and still am) a watercolorist, transforming my impressionistic works into abstracts and later adding into the mix my fascination for dimension and texture. Texture?! It was brought to my attention that everywhere I went, I had to touch things.  I had also become an avid a knitter; one who also spins and dyes her own yarns from raw, more exotic of fleece and fiber. I decided to incorporate the beauty of my hand dyed, natural and exotic fibers into my Fine Art world. Voila! The culmination of my mediums captured what I had been looking for all along. I still get to enjoy color in liquid form, being able to create my own shades and color combinations. My hopes are to bring single needle fiber work into the world of Fine Art.

Included in the myriad of my artistic endeavors, I am a licensed Tattoo Artist. The idea of artwork being able to be displayed in such an amazing way, on human skin, was a challenge I was driven to work with. I’ve now envelope a deep love for the process as well as the end result; and, I still get to play with liquid colors creating my joie de vivre, . . . my own freestyle creations. With my art and my photography, I consider I will continue to think outside of the frame.   

The colors of my crayolas keep getting prettier and prettier.
