Description I have been experimenting with brushwork lately, using large brushes and bold gestures. I was definitely in the 'zone' when I painted the sketch of these mountains. For me, being in the zone means having clarity of vision and confidence; there is also a certain amount of playfulness and a feeling of freedom, as if you could do no wrong. This painting was very enjoyable to work on -- and has a feeling of ease and flow in the finished piece.
