Description I don't want to say that I am old as I am not quite yet officially an antique ... but, the Rolleiflex in this photo is my very first camera. My father gave this to me on my 10th birthday (some 47 years ago - oh well, maybe I am an antique). Our bond was photography, and we spent many weekends travelling around the Ontario countryside taking pictures. This Rolleiflex was not new when it fell into my hands, and the closest I can date it would be to say it is 'pre-WWII.' This camera is about as far away as possible from the digital marvels we enjoy today - absolutely everything about it is manual. But here is the biggest surprise of all - it still works!!!
Patricia Heise, Mississauga, Ontario Member Since May 2010 Artist Statement Usually, as people grow older they want to move away from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a quieter, more serene life. Well, never being one to follow conventional custom, I have recently returned home to the Toronto area and am enjoying it immensely. The truth is I really missed the culture of Toronto. I've also returned to work. I'm just full of surprises, aren't I. Now I have more photo opportunities, however I need to find the time to explore them. But I'm sure I will. :))
