Well known doesn’t mean talented. The ideas behind the Mille Couleurs Arts is to give a value to unknown artists. There are a lot good potentials, gifted artists in the world especially in Africa, however the lack of opportunities, help and support has left them on their own and they do with the little they have.
At Mille Couleurs Arts, we shed light on all those artists who are talented but are not known for many reasons.
Africa has been underrepresented in galleries and at auctions, but it looks like collectors are eager to try something new may be developing an appetite for African art.
The market for contemporary African art is still small, but there’s obviously plenty of potential. Even as the art market hints at a recovery, collectors will probably look for something new.
