Artist Statement Commercial photography at the Cranbrook Studio in Detroit coupled with a background in advertising and marketing in New York fostered my skill and vision.

As in an advertisement, a photograph must speak to the viewer. It must communicate a message or a story. It must stand out. Ideally, my photography does not look like so many repetitive work we see.

I seek to photograph the humor and quirks of everyday life. Advertising trained my eye. My tendency toward humor and an unpretentious personality distinguish my work. I even spend time writing creative titles.
