Artist Statement i am an artist. down to the deepest core of my being. i have always and shall always be me. i take a great deal of pride in my art and how it represents me as a person. for most of my life i have spent a significant amount of time defending my art and point of view. this included teachers, fellow peers, and critics. in the last three years i have given up on those losing battles and realized my ideas are my own. i should compromise for no one. so far i have not. photography has always been for me the only manner in which i can present my point of view to the mechanized mind of the average person. in my music and paintings, my ideas are too surreal to be taken in as the reality of my existence. photography can not be disputed. that is the appeal to me. i have been a photoshop junkie since version 5.0 but don't cut out images and move objects around to create a fictional image. its a tool to preserve beauty. if anything i hope i have accomplished this
